Would you like to join the communications team of one of the UK’s largest public service providers whose work impacts every aspect of our community? The Senior Media Manager role is an exciting and challenging position that requires an exceptional Media and Communications professional, able to work in a varied and demanding environment.

You will need to demonstrate excellent media relations skills and have experience of running a busy and reactive and proactive press office and working and thriving under pressure. You must also have extensive crisis management and crisis communications experience in addition to stakeholder engagement, strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to line manage. You will report to the Head of External Communications and have responsibility for a team of two.

Your core responsibilities will be to manage a busy press office; this entails preparing news releases, articles, briefing materials and statements for senior management as well as handling crisis and issues management. You will be required to devise and direct a media stakeholder contact programme to support all business activities. You will also manage the social media channels for Amey including the content and use as well as liaising with our core titles to negotiate and place paid-for media opportunities.

Ideally, you will have a solid understanding of outsourced, professional, transport, justice or environmental services from within an agency or in-house environment and will have worked in at least one of these markets. You must be a strong team player, a creative thinker, decision maker and be able to travel within the UK.
